A Culmination of Flavours Inspired By South African Street Food
Howzit my friend, just so you know... at Cape Collective we don’t just create mouthwatering South African street food, we are legends at creating cherished memories.
South Africa is dubbed the rainbow nation due to its rich cultural influences. It is our mission to ensure that we showcase the diversity of its culture through our menu items and flavour profiles. It goes without saying, you can educate people through food and that is where our passion lies, to introduce South African culture to the bustling Melbourne food scene and budding foodies.
Prior to closing our cosy restaurant bar, people frequented our venue to socialise, some came to relive the flavours of their mothers & grandmothers, whilst others saw us as a means to remember.
South African Street Food
What is South African food though? Well, it is quite unique with a rich tapestry of flavours beginning as far back as 1700’s. With influences from Dutch, Indo-Malay, French, Indian and African, you could say South Africa is the OG of fusion.
